I mentioned this in a conversation several years ago. When Starfleet said they would make all info on Discovery disappear they weren't being literal, there's no way they could do that, too many people were aware of the ship (it's existence if not the details of its unique drive), too many family members would be wondering what happened to their loved ones. Starfleet would declare the Drive and Sphere beyond Top Secret, bury it in a hole then bury the hole, shortly after the Federation News Service would report that a research vessel called Discovery has gone missing while exploring a wormhole or cosmic wave or something, a search would be conducted, nothing would be found, and after a respectable amount of time the crew would be officially listed as deceased, the hazards of space exploration. Spock would not mention his adopted sister for the same reason he never mentioned his brother Sybok, he generally doesn't talk much about his personal life.

the Crossfield class is meant to test all kinds of experimental drives the Discovery and Glenn where the ones using the Spore drive, but from what it looks like other alternatives might have been on the table and therefor more ships (at least NCC-1279 which got stolen and modified by Klingon extremists), they probably where less successfull or are classified to

If the spore drive was in the database, there would have been no Voyager series. Janeway would have just pull the info from the database and have the spore drive build and spores cultivated and a alt way to operated and they be back in the alpha quadrant. 7of9 would still be with the collective and the borg would not have been defeated.

Yes but there were also other crossfield class ships that werent equpped with a spore drive

Thanks! I love those who have also watched every episode of every series and can piece it all together. Some may not like certain series but they do tell stories that fit into other series that matter.

USS Discovery was not the only ship of that class and design. It had several several ships one of which was destroyed in Star Trek the Motion picture and even in the first attack in Star Trek(2009). And I believe the producers of Prodigy mentioned it'd not Discovery but it's sister ship

But how can they explain Discovery destroying Sacrophagus and also planting a bomb in Qonos without the Spore Drive...?

I dont think the record would mention that discovery stopped the Klingon war as it used its spore drive to jump into a cave and then did what ever it did for the rest of the episode, it would seems more like Starfleets style to just say that they were able to create a peace treaty out of nowhere then somehow explaine of discovery ended up there at the Klingon home world ( i can't spell it ) not to mention in a cave underground.

Actually… the ships CLASS was not classified, just the ship itself was. The cross field class had several ships but only the Discovery’s abilities and fate were classified.

The spore drive tech was cool at least they could hop around in the 31st century and then get dilthium later. It was fun they were told at one point don't go to earth then she got an upgrade which was nice.

An absolutely preposterous plot line. Discovery jumped all over the place, seen by multiple ships, including klingons and had a whole crew...all of which would have had to remain silent...about a method of instant space travel. In the trek universe, Starfleet has knowledge of technology deemed too powerful...the knowledge doesn't disappear, they just choose not to use it. The admiral should have had access to such information, including the spore drive.

So let's say everything about the spore drive and it's uses, along with the discovery's disappearance was sealed....then the crossfield class would be mainly unimportant to be shown with those other famous classes/ships.

There were more Crossfield Class ships we only know of 2 that had the spore drive: The Glen and Discovery. When Discovery jumped to the future all knowledge of the ship, the drive etc was all sealed for security. Thats why Vance didnt know anything about it, the official record was Discovery blew up and was destroyed. The only people who knew the truth were the crew of the Enterprise, Po, the Klingons and the Kelpians
