CLIP DESCRIPTION:
A mistake by Tuco (Eli Wallach) forces him and Blondie (Clint Eastwood) to be captured by Union soldiers.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
In the last and the best installment of his so-called "Dollars" trilogy of Sergio Leone-directed "spaghetti westerns," Clint Eastwood reprised the role of a taciturn, enigmatic loner. Here he searches for a cache of stolen gold against rivals the Bad (Lee Van Cleef), a ruthless bounty hunter, and the Ugly (Eli Wallach), a Mexican bandit. Though dubbed "the Good," Eastwood's character is not much better than his opponents -- he is just smarter and shoots faster. The film's title reveals its ironic attitude toward the canonized heroes of the classical western. "The real West was the world of violence, fear, and brutal instincts," claimed Leone. "In pursuit of profit there is no such thing as good and evil, generosity or deviousness; everything depends on chance, and not the best wins but the luckiest." Immensely entertaining and beautifully shot in Techniscope by Tonino Delli Colli, the movie is a virtually definitive "spaghetti western," rivaled only by Leone's own Once Upon a Time in the West (1968). The main musical theme by Ennio Morricone hit #1 on the British pop charts. Originally released in Italy at 177 minutes, the movie was later cut for its international release.

“Hoorah for General!... what’s his name?”

This movie may have some of the best action sequences in cinema, but the comedy is extremely underrated. This scene is just purely hilarious.

I love this scene, no witty retort from the union officer, just dusts off his uniform

"Next time I'll do the talking!"

This movie is really comedic in an odd way. It’s dark, violent, gritty and set during one of the bloodiest wars in American history yet manages to get a cheeky laugh out of you every now and then.

Tuco in general is goofy. With his nonsense quotes about Spurs or him having a bath with his gun and killing someone, to this scene, or his constant rage and disbelief when Blondie messes with him.

it's funny how they immediately switched to scene where they are in a concentration camp after that union captain dusted his sleeve off XD

I always LOVED Tucos reaction when he realizes they’re actually blue uniforms

despite being a huge fan of Clint Eastwood, for me the best actor was Eli Wallach (Tuco).
he really stole the show, without him, the movie wouldn't have been the same.

As a little kid I laughed at this scene with my dad as I watched the soldier brush the dust off his uniform

0:42 I know good casting when I see it. That man\soldier ain't saying nothing, but with that face, eyes and attitude he was spot on for that part.

I love it when they dust off. Its just a small comedic moment that sticks in my mind for some reason.

This movie actually takes place in early 1862 during Sibley's New Mexico campaign, which was before Grant or Lee ever took command.

That's the beauty of this movie, very very few westerns have any kind of comedy at all they're so serious and gruff, this had a lot of good comedic bits

One thing I find interesting is the depiction of the Civil War in this movie. The troops look tired messy no rousing speeches you can almost tell how none of them have had a bath in weeks. Most depictions of the war even made decades later they may up the gore but usually the slog of it all is missing.
