I once pursued a dragon, a quest I thought might never mend,

A formidable creature, it seemed beyond belief.

I followed this dragon, my heart filled with aspirations,

I trailed this dragon, led by my imaginations.

I sought a dragon, hoping to find hope's start,

But the dragon I yearned for was torn apart.

Within its gaze, I glimpsed a gentle, wounded soul,

A troubled spirit, lost in the darkness, without a goal.

I pursued a dragon, and it, in turn, pursued me,

In shared agony, our spirits did find solace and unity.

In the end, a poignant truth did slowly unveil,

The dragon I pursued was but a reflection of my own travail.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I embraced its pain,

In our shared suffering, love and peace did gain.
