Once ethnic groups in Indonesia had their own religions, then came the Arabic preachers to convert all of the previous religions. Only religion in Bali is not replaced by them.

Thanks for the video, but I disagree with the statement that Balinese Hindu is from animist belief and Hindu itself, FYI javanese as the origin of Balinese has Kapitayan a belief in one God. Balinese Hinduism actually traces its roots back to Javanese Hinduism from ancient times. When the King of the Majapahit kingdom converted to Islam, his people who didn't follow Islam migrated to the Bali islands. The distinctiveness of Balinese Hinduism stems from ancient Java having its own belief system called Kapitayan, which influenced their practices, including the architecture of temples differing from Indian Hindu temples. Hinduism and Buddhism arrived in Indonesia peacefully as well and were once the dominant religions. Later, Islam arrived peacefully and became the majority religion. Christianity, however, came with imperialism and colonialism, which is why it didn't become the predominant religion. Indonesia values peace and strives to maintain it as it is. well, nothing is perfect, but the good is always the one with little flaw. We welcome you with diversity and tolerance.

This does not really explain why is is the only Hindu island left, Islam is dominant in the islands both to its east west and north ( only Australia to the south ) and Hindu was once the majority religion in all, so why did it remain Hindu, it must be some historical idiosyncratic or geography anomaly not explained above. Anybody know ?
