This guy is telling us red-dye is bad, but doesn't say why it's bad. Wow.

The title poses and interesting question. Maybe I'll google it.

I wish he would go more into the reasons WHY it’s bad for you.

Artificial color Red 40, also known as Allura Red AC, is made using a combination of chemical compounds. Specifically, Red 40 is a synthetic dye that is typically made from petroleum or coal tar.

The primary chemical compounds used in the production of Red 40 include sulfonic acid (also known as 1-naphthalenesulfonic acid, 4-hydroxy-3-[[4-methoxy-5-methyl-2-(sulfonatophenyl)azo]phenyl]azo]-), along with sodium hydroxide and sulfuric acid. These compounds are chemically processed and combined to create the final Red 40 dye.

It is worth mentioning that Red 40 is one of the most commonly used food dyes in the world and is found in a wide range of food and beverage products. However, there is ongoing debate and concern about its safety and potential health effects, particularly in relation to hyperactivity in children and potential carcinogenic properties.

My sister got mad that I made her kids Jello one day. I thought she was crazy and acting self righteous. Then I had my own child and noticed her behavior considerably different anytime I would give her anything with red 40 in it. She would go completely nuts and get aggressive immediately after consuming that junk. No more strawberry nesquik no more Doritos no more Jello or any other BS that has that crap in it.

I would love to watch more super short videos of this dude under-explaining complex things like science, history, and politics. What a great segment 👏 👏 👏

Red 40 is the cause of my migraines, 1 red m&m and I am done for the day. It causes irrational behaviour in 2 of my children. Unfortunately, the black community in the USA is a target of red 40 laced products.
