‘Where in God’s name’: Biden pleads against gun ‘carnage’

US President Joe Biden has pleaded for the country to act on gun "carnage", saying he was “struck” that mass shootings “rarely happen anywhere else across the world”.

Mr Biden said he had been reflecting on his 17-hour flight –returning from the international Quad meeting with Australian and Asian leaders.

“What struck me was that this kind of mass shooting rarely happen anywhere else in the world,” he said.

“Why are we willing to live with this carnage? Why do we keep letting this happen? Where in God’s name is our backbone … it’s time to act ... we have to do more."

The Democrats solution is to raise the age to purchase firearms to 21 years old but lower the voting age to 16.
