The "Assault weapon ban" was enacted in 1994. Five years later in 1999 mass shootings were up 500%, In 2004 the ban expired. Comparing 1999 to 2020 mass shootings were down 60%. You can create the insane statistics he is touting if you account for the fact that a 300% increase in 1999 represents an increase from 1 to 3. If you however compare periods during the ban such as 1994 to 1999 there was in fact an increase from 1 to 5. A 500% increase DURING the ban. This proves nothing except that you can nitpick statistics to say what ever you want. AKA lying with statistics.

The issue is mental health. Since social media began society in general has gone down hill. Suicide, mental health disorders, anger, no respect etc have been on the rise and the mental health system is not equipped to help these folks. My heart goes out to the families.
