Best explanation I’ve found for this knot, thanks

I don't have paracord but I will try it with a crocheted cord I made months ago.

You make it so easy! I forget how to do this knot when I don’t do it for a few months, and I struggle KNOWING I have done it before. You make it simple and straightforward.

Exactly what I need right now. Thank you.

I made your flask sleeve that looks like a fish net, but I didn’t have a bead for the top so I made my own out of a ranger bead!

I have watched many jug knot Videos About how to tie it but yours is the first one to do it the way my cowboy father showed me years ago ( the second method)

I have 3 of these attached to my camp chairs…. I have two of them tied up with enough line that when the line is fully extended out with the sling part still In The middle of the lines, i can place my heels in the center of the sling and have a ready made foot rest! The last time I was camping with my scouts, I had a couple of the adults, who also have kids in the troop, studying my "contraption." I picked up my water bottle which also had the same "contraption" as someone kept calling it, and tossed it to them. I told them it was the exact same sling that was on the water bottle, just a lost more line. When asked how I came up with the idea, I told them that I had one of the best teachers money could buy for the low low price of $3 a month, Tim from Weavers of Eternity! Although you didn’t actually teach me how to tie this specific water bottle sling, until today when I watched this video ! lol 😝

I actually used the Diamond knot without completing the last two steps of tying it completely, to make the sling/foot rest! I have to say that the saying, "Necessity is the mother of all inventions, " is definitely accurate!!! :) I wanted to be able to put my feet up when sitting in my oversized camp chair as well as attach my water bottle to the chair when it’s not being carried while hiking or just walking around the camp grounds. When I was making the water bottle sling, I was actually sitting in that camp chair and wishing I had a way to put my feet up. As I was putting the water bottle into the sling, all of the sudden a light bulb burned brightly in my mind's eye as I thought, "I wonder if I could use this attached to the chair to put my feet in?" So, I got up and went to my bag and pulled out one of the 4 brand new hundred foot hanks of cord I brought with me to make tree straps for the hammocks.

(Side note) We are not allowed to use just a single line of Paracord wrapped around trees to tie up hammocks. The single lines can badly damage the trees by cutting into the bark. So, we have to use either safety straps or straps that are a minimum of 1 inch in width. I use a king cobra weave attached to two heavy duty climbing O-rings that can withstand up to 500lbs each to make my tree straps.

Anyway, after getting the cord, I proceeded to make another "water bottle sling" but made it with about 2 1/2 - 3 feet of line on both sides of the center water bottle sling knot. After connecting the ends of the two cord pieces together, then I attached it to the chair. Waaa Laaa! Foot rests!!! :)

I tried this with 2 other videos for at least 30 minutes, and still hadn't gotten it. Got it with your vid on the first try. Thanks!

Nice, Ive done somethng similar with about 12ft of rope. Leaving the loop side free, add a Chain Sinnet (aka Monkey Braid) in the middle, connect ends with Double Fisherman's Knot. The longer length, with the Chain Sinnet creates a shoulder strap for independent carry/canteen.

The knot at 1:50 is not the same as the knot at 1:55: at 1:50 the bight on the bottom of the screen is under the two crossing strands, but at 1:55 it's between them. The knot at 1:50 is not a jar sling at all.

I was taught this by my dad as a kid when he was in the Navy he called it a Japanese jugnot

1:52 is one knot, and on 1:53 it's a little bit different... Something was missed.

Unless I missed something, the result at 1:51 does not seem the same as 3:27.
