This ISNT the very first appearance. This is actually the tenth appearance. it was shown on the Tracey Ullman show on 11 Oct 1987 (S02E03), during her second season and It's called "Maggie's Brain." The very first episode is called "Good Night" and was shown on 19 April 1987 ( S01E03 of Tracey Ullman).

I liked early Lisa when she had a slight rebellious streak in her, not as bad as Bart but definitely not the goody to shoes she is now, they got rid of that fairly quickly tho, which is a shame as it gave her slightly more depth, guess they wanted to make Bart the poster boy for rebellious youth and have her be squeaky clean in comparision.
