I have a 4TB T7 for my super low tech "NAS". It's been performaing great between my mac/pc envionrment. I also have one to store all my PS4 titles. Great devices, they just work.

Thanks for the Crystal disk testing. It took me 4 videos to find this info.

It's crazy how these portable SSDs became cheaper and cheaper in a span of 5-6 years. I bought 512GB Samsung T3 in 2017 for 200$, now for that money you can get 2TB T9.

The rubber is nice until it turns gummy which they all seem to do after a decade or so.

It does say "up to", so it's not deceptive advertising.

I always admire that he buys them with his own money, honest, I like it 😎

These portable drives are pretty great. I have a T7 currently and stuck a piece of velcro on it and move it between devices since it can be powered by USB Only. It lived on the back of my PC for like a year lol. but its great since a phone or tablet can also power it, to transfer movies and stuff. Its so fast for that.

Hey there, good review. just an FYI The Alienware laptops and desktops have 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port and
2 Thunderbolt™ 4 Gen 2 Type-C ports with Display Port Alt Mode/USB4

My T9 4tb is total junk.
It worked awesome for the first six weeks, and then one day just failed to load and is not visible in the USB manager, file Explorer, device manager, BIOS, boot manager, other computer, Samsung Phone. The little blue light comes on, but now it’s just a $500 paperweight 😔

Isn't it better just to get a T7 if the gen2x2 isn't supported on the computer being used?

I wouldn't be too optimistic on USB 4 becoming mainstream in terms of price over the next couple of years, gen 2 speeds are going to be the norm for some years to come...

It physically looks twice as big as my T5 2TB, but the T9 is almost twice as fast since I get 480 write and 500 read.

I'm looking for a 10-in android tablet that is Affordable that I can travel with and I can plug in a two and a half inch USB hard drive with movies on it and watch them on a 10 inch android tablet. Do you have any suggestions.

Question: you mentioned the encryption doesn’t work on Linux. Does that mean Linux won’t read the encrypted drive or that the password to unlock is not needed on Linux?

Samsung is great quality, but I think usb 4 or tb4 is better for future proofing

I Bought Samsung T9 and excited to transfer a bunch of photos from my iPhone 15pm but every time I transfer photos and videos there's always a copy of IMG file that cannot open and its file size is only 4kb and also has a same file name of the photos that I copied.... could you tell what it is...??? or Do I need to do something... It's really annoying I transfer 1000 photos and there's also 1000 copies of blank files with a file size of 4kb each sorry but I'm not techie hope someone helps... I tried to google it but can't find it...

I have USB 3.2 2x2 cards on my Destop PC's. It is becoming a standard on more mothetboards, Most AMD 5 boards have the connection necessary. I wouldn't knock it because you don't own the proper computer to utilize it properly. You can review something that you don't have equipment to run it.
