North Korean Soldiers Already Fleeing the Battlefield

North Korea has sent 10,000 soldiers to fight for Russia in Ukraine and there are reports they have already begun deserting their positions. North Korea is deliberately trying to cause provocations with South Korea and the United States three weeks prior to the US election to help Donald Trump return to the White House.

I'm not an American, and I don't live in the US. But as November 5 approaches I feel an ever-growing sense of foreboding.
To me it appears blindingly obvious that the war in Ukraine is the most significant geopolitical crossroads the world has faced in decades. If Putin is allowed to win, the consequences for the paradigms of liberal democracy and globalisation will be absolutely dire.

And if it happens as a consequence of Trump being re-elected, then the starting gun for every authoritarian regime, strongman dictator, warlord, kleptocrat and fascist to start grabbing everything they can will have been fired all the quicker.

I can't understand why every politician in every nation currently benefiting from the current rules based international order isn't focussing on nothing else!

Sending 10.000 NK troops to Ukraine is a act of declared war but some NK troops might get a chance to escape to freedom.

One of my grandfather's served in the US Army in the Korean War. He said Korean winters were the worst winters he ever saw, I guarantee that those Korean deserters will have a good chance of surviving a eastern European winter. It isn't anything they haven't seen before. I also know that he is rolling in his grave knowing a US presidential candidate is praising dictators like Putin and Kim. He would consider it a disgrace and automatically disqualifying to be a dog catcher let alone president.

I will not be surprised if many of these North Koreans will try and escape from the war to a safe area. Probably for them it will be easier to escape from a battlefield than North Korea.
