More Philly sounds from the 70s - The spinners – it’s a shame; The o’jays – for the love of money, family reunion, stairway to heaven, emotionally yours; Stylistics – people make the world go round, break up to make up, i’m stone in love with you, you make me feel brand new. From Chicago, the Chi-lites – oh girl, (for god’s sake) give more power to the people.

Blue Magic, The Stylistics, The Whispers, The Spinners, The Delfonics, etc. All these groups bring it home.

Loved this one, the minute you started playing it, it all came back….even the harmonies. Real love songs, right?

Aretha Franklin 'Daydreaming' will melt both of you

This is their signature song, but my overwhelming favorite is "What's Come Over Me" (That song will put you in falsetto heaven) "Spell" and "Stop to Start" were killers too.

Singing falsetto for Blue Magic is: Ted " Wizard " Mills.

Another 70's soul song I think you'll like is Misty Blue by Dorothy Moore.

If you never did any Stylistics they are up there also pay attention to the strings. That’s how I got into studying background and jazz especially violin.

A great old school 70's group with some really nice songs.

The guys are way before the Bee Gees. Those guys got their singing style from black groups using falsetto. If you listen to groups that were around back in the day their falsetto style far exceeds anything the Bee Gees ever did. Phillip Bailey from Earth Wind and Fire is a prime example. It is part of Black music culture so therefore the Bee Gees should remind you of the groups that paved the way for them. For brothers and sisters who understand the history of Black music, we don't get Bee Gee vibes.

Barry Gibbs admits that the Philadelphia sound with the falsetto was a big influence on his style. He didn’t always sing falsetto if you remember. He got it from the Philly sound.

"Love Me or Leave Me" features him scatting!!
Yes, Sammy could do it all, sing, act and dance!!!!
