This was our music. I think we took it for granted. We expected it. It was always there… until it wasn’t. Now it’s a treasure.

I am a 69 yr. old black female. I listen to this song every day. It was released 1978. I was married 1977. If it had been released in 1977, it would have been one of the songs in my wedding. (Today - July 23rd is my 47th wedding anniversary)
A little background.
Barry Gibb (middle) September 1, 1946. He and his wife Linda have been married for 53 years. They have 4 sons and one daughter who is the youngest. Also, 7 grandchildren. Barry's chest is shiny with blotches because when he was about 18 months, he pulled a pot of hot tea from off of a table. His mom said he didn't speak for a long time (close to 2 years.) He was close to dying because there was no skin grafting back then and gangrene was beginning to set in. Barry said he has no memory of it happening, just the scars to prove it. Robin (on our left - long hair) and Maurice (on our right - short hair) were fraternal twins.
Maurice Gibb (December 22, 1949 - January 12, 2003) heart attack, while getting surgery for twisted intestines. Survived by wife and 2 adult children.
Robin Gibb (December 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) doctors found out he had the same intestine problems as Maurice. When they went in to fix it, they found cancer. He is survived by wife and 4 adult children.
Andy Gibb not pictured. (March 5, 1958 - March 10, 1988) He was too young to sing with his brothers. He had his own successful career. He and Barry could have been identical twins. He had a bad heart. Andy is survived by one daughter.
They wrote their own songs and wrote and produced songs for a lot of other artists. Barry didn't always sing in falsetto. They were asked if someone could sing falsetto on a song. Barry volunteered, and the rest is history. Robin sings falsetto too.
On a side note, the first born is their sister, Lesley (Gibb) Evans. She can sing, but she did not want to be in the limelight. She lives a quiet life. She and Barry are the last two survivors of the family. Maurice passed away on Lesley's 58th birthday.
They were so popular that some radio stations had a 'Bee Gees free' weekend. NO requests for their songs. There's so much to write about them. In your spare time, I think you'll like what they have contributed to the music industry. I recommend the following songs:

My dad used to dance with my mom in the living room anytime this song was played. They were married for 60 years

The Bee Gees dedicated all of the money they made on this song to UNICEF. To help kids. Amazing people.

The more you learn about those brothers, the more you realize all of them could sing. No one will ever sound like the Bee Gees.

It’s so fun as someone who grew up with The Bee Gees to see your generation discover their talent. Their music for me represents a wonderful time in my life and like everyone is saying, no auto tune, just pure talent. So sad when Maurice (pronounced Morris) and Robin died.

This is one of the best reactions I've heard on this song. I've listened to at least 200 reactions on this song. I'm a 68 year old male. I grew up on this song. It's my favorite song of all time. I was a DJ and this this song came out it changed my life. The two outside bros are twins. All three pros have a great history. Again your reaction was great. A sense of humor is very important.

I'll be 61 this coming October and EVERYONE adored the BeeGees! Regardless of race, class, age, sex, etc. we could all get together to appreciate excellence! If we could only go back to the 70's!!!

No auto-tune back in those days. It was pure talent with one microphone.
