Arbor coat is my go to for solid stain. Awesome product. A bit pricey but worth the extra money.

You’ll always have haters. I’m not one of those. What haters don’t realize is that there is sometimes more than one way to do a job right. I for one appreciate your videos and your time. I’ve been painting for 20 years and have learned a few things from this guy. Please consider wisdom before rejection. Peace

If the home was already painted, is it difficult to convert the siding to stain?

So you use oil based primer and water based paint on exteriors?

The problem with stain is when stain has reached its life cycle it still looks good. by the time you realize you need to stain again it's already too late and have wood rot. stain also needs to be applied more often than paint. there are hybrid latex paints for wood siding that looks like paint but has the oil characteristics of an oil based stain. have been painting for almost 30 years. every painter has what they think is right/better. stain has it's purpose but the environment/state u live in will determine if u use paint or a stain on wood siding. just saying

My uncle wants me to redo his fence but it's already got flat paint on it. Do I strip the paint off or just use another flat paint?
