This should help because I see therapy as telling a random person all my problems and making them more worried about me. That just seams pitiful.

Even though we really shouldn’t be afraid about telling someone about our problems, it is just not as easy as it sounds to not be afraid.

I just don't like the idea of spilling out my thoughts to some random person, yet I.still.have to do ot

I went to therapy for the first time today and it went better than I thought. It was because of this channel that I told my mom how I was feeling. Thank you all so much for all the advice and love you share💛

I deeply admire therapists and their patience...they are really good people, hope I can help people as much as they do

All therapists i've had had been either mean and pushy or have walked on egg shells around me. Not sure if that just me but the last 5 therapists have brought me to tears of either anger, sadness, or embarrassment. I understand im not the easiest to work with; Hardly talking for the first 3 sessions and not reacting to what their saying with my head in me lap. Along with my fear of openning up, so I normally try to act like i'm "normal". Another thing is if the ask me anything about past experiences or what i felt during said experience i'm likey to shut down.

I feel ashamed to talk about my most vulnerable thoughts because I feel like no one else feels this way and any professional would think I'm being really dumb for needing therapy for such meaningless things

It's too bad there isn't a solution for finding a 'genuine' therapist, or at least one that is decent at their job. That's the only part that I fear the most. I've had four different therapists and 2 psychiatrists, all uncaring.

Talking to a therapist feels weird....
When the therapist asked me what I wanted to talk about today... I just didn’t know what to say. I don’t feel... good? Telling my thoughts to someone I don’t even know.
After my first session it just felt... awkward..? You know? Almost the whole session was a awkward silence.

Edit: when I commented that, I was having an anxiety attack and so I was binging your vids. Also I’m looking for therapy sometime soon

You are assuming everyone has friends, trust their family and have over 100 dollars to spend on therapy every month

I used to be terrified of the idea of going to therapy. But if you have a physical issue of course you should get it checked out, so why should it be any different for mental a issue? There’s no shame in getting help, especially if you need it :) It may seem scary at first, but it really does help and is so worth it. <3 Don’t let your fear get the best of you.
