It is important to watch the spark plug tube seals when installing the valve cover. If you cannot see the top of the spark plug tube all the way around then the seal is out of place. Gently lift the cover, recenter and wiggle the cover as you press down and the seal will go over the tube properly. I had two out of place and both tubes filled with you Sir for the video!

Thank you so much, I just performed this service on my Civic and you made it so easy, $17 for the gasket kit and an hour worth of work saved me a ton of money, thanks again!

One of the best DIY vids on the subject - no unnecessary talking, no unnecessary video, no unnecessary ugly face closeups.
Thanks Brian!

I had trouble getting new valve cover bolt gaskets/seals on the bolts (tore through 2 of them). I ended up boiling water in a mug, then dropping the seals in the hot water for a little bit of time to make them more pliable. Then I applied a little dish soap on the center. I put the bolt head in a vice so that the thread end was up and applied pressure to the gasket/seal, mostly to one side of the gasket/seal, to force it on at an angle and it was successful. - just offering another method if you can't get them on as easily as shown in the video.

Great video. Super helpful. I had 3 of 4 tube seals Leaking causing misfires.
This is the deepest I've gone in fixing my own car.

Best repair video I've seen in a while, thanks! Sometimes, u might have to stop and explain something but do folk will be talking way more than working and fumbling around and this same video would be over 20 minutes so thanks for getting right to it but at the same time showing up close every single little step, great job

hardest part was trying to remove the spark plug seals. if they are dry rotted the easiest way to remove it is to use a screwdriver to lightly CHISEL it out. BUT NOT from the bottom backside you have to do it from the TOP side looking down
