We believe in responsible home defense and we know there are a lot of other people who think the same way. That's why we created The Gun Box. It really is safer, more convenient and a whole lot cooler than most other gun safes.

My husband and I made a purchase from The Gun Box in January after hearing endorsements on Glenn Beck's show and the Blaze. We were excited to both support an American company and safely store our handguns. I feel everyone should be aware of how this company treats their customers. We made the purchase of 2 GunBoxes ($670) only a few weeks before we were told they were recalled as they could be dropped and unlocked. So we went through the hassle of returning them and we were told it would take 2 weeks to correct their mistake. 2 weeks later, when we had not yet received our replacement safes, my husband contacted them and he was told it was taking them longer than expected because they had recently done $1 million in sales. So clearly our $670 didn't mean much to them. Last week we received our replacement gun boxes in the mail, only to find that they were both very badly scratched and damaged. They are not at all the same boxes we returned or even in comparable condition to our new boxes we sent back. Rather, they are used, refurbished boxes and in significantly worse condition. I am sickened that this company would treat their paying customers like this. We are requesting a full refund, but thus far this company has failed to take responsibility for this situation, even though they admitted that many of the Gun Boxes they sent back had cosmetic damage. Clearly they aren't that concerned about honestly righting their wrong. I would not recommend this company to anyone as I do not appreciate the way they have treated my husband and I despite this whole situation stemming from their ultimately unsafe product design and I'm certain that other potential customers who work hard for their money would not appreciate being in a similar situation. My hope is that the owners of this company would have some integrity and enough pride in their product and their name to remedy our situation fairly.

After doing months of due diligence on the web, reviewing the best way to have easy access to my firearm in a time of need while being safe about the placement of my handgun, I pulled the trigger and purchased a GunBox Premier model. I was eagerly anticipating the receipt of the unit, which took about 3 days. Last night, I unboxed the unit. Read the instructions and set up a few fingerprints and enabled the RFID label that comes in the box. Everything worked super great UNTILL I put my $1250 FNX .45 Tactical and a Viridian X5L laser into the box. I closed the unit and waved my hand over the top eagerly anticipating the cover to open. Gears started to spin, and then nothing. One super heavy heart beat. I waved my hand over the unit again and gears started to spin and again nothing. Multiple heavy heartbeats.  OMG… How the hell will I get my handgun out of this box as it is made to keep guns inside. It took me over 12 times to get the GunBox Premier to open and that was because I clicked my heals and prayed to the handgun gods. After the box opened, I thought surely I placed the handgun into the box incorrectly and so I started to see how best to make sure the gun was not at fault. I repositioned the handgun and closed the box and BAM!!! Nothing. The GunBox again would not open. I repeated waving my wrist over the GunBox and again after 12 or so times, the box opened. I repositioned my handgun again, took out my magazine, closed the box and BAM!!!  It would not open again. It is not that the unit did not recognize me; the locking mechanism was just stuck. I prayed to the handgun gods one more time to give me my $1500 handgun back if I promise to never ever put it inside this box again. Happily, after 15 attempts the handgun god took pity on me and gave me my handgun back. Once I got my handgun out, I contacted the GunBox Support Team via e-mail. They did not respond to me. I then contacted them by phone and requested a full refund stating that there was no way in hell I would risk my family’s life on a handgun security box that opened every 10-15 attempts. They informed me that I would have to pay UPS to send them the gunbox back and that if the box, gunbox and paperwork were not in brand new condition there would be an additional 20% restocking fee. OMG are you serious I asked them. This is not me wanting to return the gunbox because I don’t like it; this is me wanting to return the box because it was grossly malfunctioning. So the moral of the story is BUYER BEWARE!!! You could loose your handgun to this box or even more important, not have immediate access to your handgun when you need it the most. Buy this product if you like living dangerously but buy it knowing the type of customer support you will receive after the purchase and what might happen to you when you need quick access to your handgun. Personally, I am going to keep my box and use it as a jewelry safe or if I get really good and mad, I will take it out to the country and shoot it with my handgun and report back to people how strong the box actually is.

A similar system was introduced in Japan many years ago using finger print recognition for secure access.  Criminals managed to get around the state of the art security measures by cutting off the fingers of the people with access.
Could be worse, it could use eye recognition.

This is cool. But now go one step further and make it look like an alarm clock radio so 99% of people that come into your room wont think twice about what it even is. Its real simple to keep a gun safe if people dont even know it exists

Does it come with the dubstep? Cause that's a dealbreaker.

Educate your kids on firearms...take them shooting, etc - no safety's necessary. I have kept a loaded .44 mag revolver next to my bed for over 5 years now, and my kids have never once touched it without asking permission. have taught them what firearms are about, and what they are for...and I take them shooting. Its that easy folks.

My immediate concern is the security of my valuables. I don't want someone to steal my guns and do whatever with them. I don't like the fact that it was always lying on the dresser, free. I know they said it could be mounted by how solid would that be?

So anyone else notice failure with his trigger finger when he grabs it at 0:36 .... shame.

I have one very evident question. What about hacksaw? Every normal male child about 6 years of age can use a hacksaw. It will take about 3-5 munites to slice this box into piesces and take the gun.

Остается один весьма очевидный вопрос... а если ножовкой по металлу? Ведь наши дети не американские и они даже не будут пытаться открыть ящик отверткой они просто возьмут ножовку и распилят этот аллюминиевый ящик за 3-5 минут.
