Missed reasons:
1) Needs to be cleaned. Some Nicolas Cage N.T. or Tom Cruise M.I. crap: tape removes finger prints, put on white or black glove, and use said finger print.
2) Power source. [Batteries] What batteries does it take? How long do they last? Do you have an extra supply roaming around?

Batteries can go dead. So the keypad can too. Some beep when acknowledging a correct Id. Some have alarms to prevent kids form accessing, or alerting of you screw up trying to get in.

One reason why not to use any of the fingerprint safes or padlocks is that they often have abysmal security. Sometimes you just need a magnet, other times a small stick can open them in seconds. Yes, this is a flaw with many keypad safes too

also, let's note, please don't have a gun unsecured if you have teenagers. Another friend lost her son, when he broke up with his girlfriend. A safe is something that would be useful for everyone even if you teach your kids respect of firearms because some Firearms are worth a crap ton of money so when not in use put them somewhere secure so you know they're not going to get damaged or stolen

Mine works fine, just check the batteries. I also use a VCI MAX No Rust Vapor Pad in my handgun safe. No matter the humidity level, it protects my handgun from corrosion. Awesome demo and shorts!!

I think some biometric locks can be picked with magnets, like the magnet keys from stores

my fingers sweat quite badly and when u use biometrics, access denied 🙅‍♂️ . In a sweaty situation, biometrics will not work . its fine for long term storage but for your edc its not a good idea. Pin codes can be a problem too in an emergency . I opt for a gun magnet in a concealed location .

My EDC is on me 16-18 hours out of the day now my others can go in a safe that’s cool but the edc rarely gets put down showers n sleep most times and even than it’s less than hands✋🏾 reach away I’m in Atlanta n they been tripping lately

Most mid size biometric gun safes will include the key entry option as well. I wouldn’t suggest getting the ones that try to hide the key hole with a little plate that needs to be screwed off with an Allen key🤣 won’t have enough time. Most don’t have that feature but be sure to watch out for the ones that do, you don’t want that shit

To be fair you are purposely putting your finger to the side of the sensor so it fails to make it seem like it doesn’t work. Just put your finger where it’s supposed to be.

I put the key in the safe when I go to bed, plus I'm a light sleeper. I can hear a pin drop, and I'm up.
