Looking for a small commuter HYBRID pick up. The Maverick is it for me. So I shopped 3 local FORD dealers. 5000, 10000, 5000 $ OVER STICKER. No thanks

Don't like the over inflated prices on new cars, QUIT BUYING THEM! They WILL lower their prices. They buy them with credit just like most of us. The longer a vehicle sits on a lot the more it costs the dealership.

The Canyon and Colorado will be huge sellers this year.

Ford still has problems with supply chain issues. Their Superduty line is a case in point. Their new motor, the 6.7 HO, only 10% of trucks could get these. The newer digital
Dash, only 30 % of the vehicles can get these, panoramic moon roof, only 20% of vehicles will get this. The result is they had a lot of demand for this but can’t supply and so people like me will got to GM/GMC

On the flip side, GM struggled hard everywhere except the US to actually have a nearly 50, 000 sales drop YoY globally, largely propped up by US fleet sales. Also their core business revenue (excluding Cruise) was down 22% YoY.

Ben, I believe you are still in the dark. GM spent the entire quarter channel stuffing the dealerships. There is now a 4 month supply of unsold Silverados sitting on dealership they aren't selling to consumers. Next quarter is going to look atrocious for GM since dealerships have run out of room to purchase anymore vehicles until some of them are sold to make room. Love your blind optimism of the legacy OEMs and their odds of surviving.

I am part of a GM Family. When speaking to the Equinox’s reason it’s not selling as well. I would say it’s because of an outdated and ugly design. If you look at its competitors, Rav4, CRV, and Escape. They look and in some, are better vehicles than GMs offerings. Especially, the new RAV4, that thing is the best looking SUV in that segment not including being reliable.

Agree I think GM is upping their game and staging as more of a luxury truck brand than a rebrand Chevy. Case and point, compare the interior of the AT4X vs the ZR2.

I bought a Chevrolet ZR2 Saturday (3 days ago) in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area. I drove the Ford Raptor but all the Ford dealers wanted $10 to $20k over MSRP. Toyota TRD Pro also wanted $10k over. I was not willing to give them that much over the sticker. Extremely happy with the ZR2. It's an awesome truck! If the Ford had been at MSRP, I would have considered it more. I feel like the dealers charging more than MSRP are reaping what they sow. It rubs people the wrong way. It's price gouging. I understand supply and demand, but there is a reason that Ford and other dealers put a sticker in the window with the MSRP. When a dealer jacks the price up so much, it feels scammy and wrong to the customer.

Equinox is down in sales because there is none in stock. Their turn rate this week in New England was 67 percent. The highest outside of EV units

They don’t charge markups that bad. You can do it online. Cars are prices fairly. I just got my hybrid maverick and now want a Silverado ev yesterday. They just canceled the bolt. So correct ev lineup is going up in price

I don’t see automakers lowering MSRP until there’s a bailout level breaking point. People buying cars are not the true customers. Investors are. Lower prices, you lower profit margins, then watch stock prices tank. It’s not right, but it’s reality. Just don’t buy, don’t let lawmakers bail the big 3 out.

You didn't talk much about the GM EV market which in late this year and 2024 there will be a couple new models coming out which are the Chevy Blazer and the Equinox EV's. I was going to go with the GM Chevy 2023 Bolt EV, but 2 things stopped me from now getting one. First is the production of the Bolts have slowed way down and Second the newer models mentioned above have better batteries and car features. It is all what pricings GM throws on these vehicles where the Equinox is the cheaper or the two vehicles and what the dealerships do with the pricings - do they mark them up above MSRP, etc.

I am also watching where Tesla is going with their pricings now coming down a little. Right now no other EV manufacturers can compete with Tesla. I feel that is due to the only thing Tesla makes is Electric Cars. They don't make ICE vehicles to conflict with sales.

My goal is to get my first EV next year and only reason is to break away from the Gas Pumps high pricings. I will only drive around town and charge the vehicle at home. I do not do long trips and need to do public chargers which is the downfall of EV traveling at this time. I do have a ICE Monte Carlo which is still in good shape but it is 21 years old with 110 thousand miles on it. I also just drive this around town now being retired.

For many years my family bought only GM, but we are very much considering switching because General Motors have terrible employee relations and disgruntled employees build faulty vehicles. GM constantly breaks the Master Agreement contract and the union has to fight for employee rights.

Buick is just sad, now. I remember the days of the Riviera, Electra 225, LeSabre. It's not like modern SUVs are models of compactness and efficiency.
