Deadheading and Pruning Hydrangea paniculata

Показать описание
March 3rd pruning of Hydrangea paniculata. We can start by deadheading our hydrangeas back to the first node, but today we want to reduce the size of the shrub - it was getting pretty big for the space, so we’re going to prune deeper into the canopy at the height we think we want to start branching. We’re going to do that throughout the shrub. We’re going to prune in a sort of rounded pattern, shorter on the sides, keeping in the natural flow of the shrub. We also want to make sure you know that Hydrangea paniculate flowers on new growth. That means you don’t have to be as concerned about when you prune the shrub. You can prune it now, and you can rest assured that it will flower this summer.
