How to add a picture or video to Google Maps? In this tutorial, I show you how to upload your own images and videos from a specific location to Google Maps. This is great if you own your own business and would like to add photos for potential customers to see, if you found a really fun hiking spot you would like to share with the world, or if you generally want to give others your impression of a location.

If you are anything like us, we usually scroll through the available photos on Google Maps before we plan an outing. This is particularly helpful on hiking or camping trips, where we really want to SEE what we’re getting into. Adding photos to Google Maps is very simple and is worth the extra effort if you really want to give a location some attention (good or bad).

Follow the steps below to upload an image to Google Maps for a specific location:

Find and select a location on Google Maps where you have taken a photo. Make sure you open the location to full screen.
1. Select Photos.
2. Select Add a Photo. Select the photo you would like to add and then select Post.
3. You should get a thank you message; this will confirm that you added the photo/video!

Follow the steps below to see all of your Google Maps uploads:
1. Select the three horizontal lines Menu button within Google Maps.
2. Select Your Contributions.
3. Select Photos.
4. Select a photo and you can see its views and add a caption. Save any changes by hitting the send button.

The option to add photo no longer exists

I think some places have the option turned off, because on two of the same type of place, only one has “add photo”. The other one, it is missing

Unfortunately, you cannot upload images to all Google Maps reviews. I have found only some businesses will show images even when you upload them and the popup accepts them as "done". Laptop.

The was helpful. But, how do you contact others who have contributed photos of places around the world? Frequently, I've wanted to contact someone who has provided a beautiful photo and just tell them how wonderful it is. How does one do that?

It would be so much easier if the application allowed me to select photos to upload that I took on my phone within that geo-tagged location. In other words, Google knows via my timeline when I was last there, and it knows which photos I took while I was there. But they don't make it easy to select those photos to upload as part of my review.

I have found a photo of my lost cat attached to a specific home address in my area which I didn’t add, nor use this photo on flyers I posted online alerting others of my pets lost status. How could this happen and why? Could this be someone’s effort to inform me of the specific location and home address where my lost pet can be found? I’ve submitted photos to google maps, my question is one business the location of the place is not there ? Can I edit the photo without deleting it altogether ? All I want to do is add the place where I took the photos all that comes up is “view place “ on the bottom right, not the location where it was taken . Thanks !
