How To Add Pictures To YouTube Videos

In ze olden days, I edited my film using quicktime pro, with all my scenes up on the screen in separate quicktimes. I grabbed and pasted, tested, moved on, then output to a .mov. Now, I'd like to up load a series of photos just by themselves. The quicktime method sticks me with huge file sizes if I gang 15 pics in a row each lasting, say, 10 seconds. (That's a pain to make a still last ten seconds....) So, what have you got for me to gang pics to upload to youtube for a 2-3 minutes video?
