What If Anakin Killed Obi-Wan And Palpatine?

One of my favorite Star Wars what if scenarios is the alternate ending in the Revenge of the Sith video game.

As Obi-Wan Kenobi warns Anakin Skywalker that he has the high ground, Anakin makes his famous leap… only this time Obi-Wan’s strike misses, allowing Anakin to land safely and impale his former master. With a smirk, the Sith kicks the Jedi’s body down the hill before heading back to the mining facility.

There he greets Darth Sidious, and receives a new lightsaber from his master. Examining the weapon, Vader ignites it and runs it through Sidious, ending the Emperor’s short reign. As Sidious’ body hits the ground, Vader boldly proclaims that the galaxy now belongs to him.

That would be the best ending. The chosen one purging both Jedi and Sith. Kreia/Darth Traya would be proud.

Except it wouldn't. Sideous spent decades getting his people into position to allow him control. Even with the Dark Side, he simply lacked the ability to actually control things without the bureaucracy. Anakin made no effort to cultivate any levers of power outside the 101st and could never hope to manage a galaxy spanning empire. Sideous made sure all his apprentices were crippled that way with the exception of Dooku, and that was more the man developed outside his sphere before he was read in.

So it is not just the HughGround that automatically gives victory.
It is the use of the HighGround advantage against your opponent.
It explains why Darth Maul died at the end of The Phantom Menace, at least here Obi-Wan attacked when Darth Vader made his move.
