1:56 - A small misconception or perhaps it was changes upon release in 1.0: harvesting skill level only affects how fast you harvest/destroy player build structures. The returned resource percentage from destroying player build structures is covered by craftsman skill level (crafting skill? was the also name changed?), that's why level 7 craftsman skill is so good: you can freely relocate anything without loosing resources.

After harvesting an island, think about replacing it with a custom island with large ship, max boars, rock etc . I usually replace my starter island with a custom once i leave it

Is it harvesting 7 or crafting 7 to get all resources back? I got harvesting to 7 and I don't get full resources back.

In 4 in-game hours I was able to go from lvl 5 to 6 crafting skill using a corrugated scrap approach. If you interpolate the data with the xp requirements from the table in this vid, you should be able to go from lvl 1 - 6 crafting in less than 8 hrs in-game ez aka 1/3 of a day.
