I"m honestly glad a German author is bringing this up in a big way. I'm tired of hearing people say "American Perspective is wrong." But yet it seems most of the authors and even youtubers making this argument are either from the UK, Italy, or Germany, not the USA. So I don't even know where this "American Perspective is wrong" argument really comes from outside of maybe a stereotype. As it's just as controversial calling them Socialist in the USA as it is in Europe.

There are a few things that are overlooked in this analysis in my opinion.
1- if you talk about capitalism you should be defining what is capital first. Capital has dramatically changed and for sure it is no longer the same as the one which was in use at the time of Marx. I guess that back then nobody could have really grasped the concept of FIAT money
2- Beside the role of capital you should consider also the ever growing role of Finance. Also finance is no longer the vein that lead the blood (the capital) from heart to the arm which is executing the labour which at the end of the day create wealth. Finance has become a big game of smoke and mirror that hijack a huge chunk of capital for murky and unproductive goal
3- The wealth and the destiny of the nation are heavily influenced by the predatory instance of a few super power. Vietnam might be mentioned as a great example of the power of capitalism but the story would have been probably different if the US had drop nuclear bomb beside the insane tonnage of conventional bombs which were dropped
4- Technology. The development of technology has changed the environment. At the time of Marx the amount of good was limited, the demand was exceeding the offer. Nowadays the offer can easily exceed the demand (see the car industry for example) and that implies the need of a deep reshaping of the society as a whole. Probably the reshaping is already happening but along the dystopian line we don't want. Already 1984 by Orwell predicted a society which would have sistematically destroyed goods in order to keep the vast majority of people on the bring of starvation as the most effective way of control

You should add in the books of Eric Arthur Blair the Democratic Socialist who was against Authoritarian Socialism of the Stalinist Soviet Union and the German National Socialist Workers Party (NSDAP) known as the NAZI party which he wrote about under his Pen Name George Orwell - His "Nineteen Eighty Four Book "book published in 1949 as a warning against Authoritarian Socialism about eliminating dissent via the Soviet Union's Gulag system and the NAZI party's 'Re-Education Centres' which had the motto "Work Makes You Free" and known by us as the Concentration Camps. It is relevant for today as the modern Democratic Party in the USA and the Labour Party in the UK have a Democratic Socialism Wing and a Woke Wing that doesn't like open debate and shouts down alternative views and has invented the Cancel Culture.

The earlier (1945) book - "Animal Farm" is a brilliant political fable of the Russian Revolution in which the animals on a farm rebel and run off the human farmers creating a collective in which, in Orwells words - "All Animals Are Equal" BUT in which the pigs become the political organisers and become worse overseers than the human farmers that were overthrown in the animal rebellion and the farm saying becomes "Some Animals Are More Equal Than Others" - A prophetic vision of modern Woke Culture were DEI (Diversity, Equality and Inclusion) Rules and why Biden's DEI employment policies in the State Department has resulted in internal emails released to Senator Ted Cruz by a whistleblower and used by Ted Cruz in a Senate Hearing to reveal that under the State Department DEI employment policy 4 groups of people should not be employed (I only remember 3):-

1) Disabled people,

2) White people,

and especially;

3) Straight White Males.

And another hearing into the US Prison Service revealed that male rapists identifying as women had been raping female inmates in the Prisons - The same has occurred here.

I am enjoying Rainer's book: "Hitler's National Socialism". This is a re-issue of a great book of his from the 1980's, probably slightly updated. The book takes advantage of the increased ability to obtain full sets of the original statements made by Third Reich leaders. Part of the difficulty in understanding or advancing research in this area has to do with modern obfuscation of terms of art like "liberalism", or "conservatism", "corporatism". These terms have been adjusted by those writers and academics who followed the "New Deal" era to try to engage in P.R. around larger government as per the FDR era. In this area of "terminology" perhaps L K Samuels' work "Killing History" is good. He talks about how the origin of terms like "left" and "right" began (it was during the French Revolution), but how the terms have been twisted over time. It is no longer meaningful in a historic sense, surveying a long period of time, to use the same definition of the term "liberal". If one uses this over all history the word meaning can be seen to be twisted and altered, likely for unfortunate reasons.
