So I did a little research, because I wanted to clear up the confusion I felt around perfumes listing notes of Iris, Orris or Orris butter, and what the differences may be. Apparently, the names are used interchangeably, but they are all the same ingredient. The familiar sweet, powdery scent of Iris (or Orris or Orris butter) is derived from the root or bulb of the Iris plant, which is aged for several years and then steam distilled to create an oil. This oil, when solidified, then becomes Orris butter, which is what is used in perfumery and has the familiar powdery Iris scent. Good to finally know. Anyway, thanks for all the reviews; those Temple of Horus bottles are so pretty!

I agree that Burberry Goddess Intense missed the mark. They were just trying to capitalize on the hype of the original. What a shame!! I was hoping for a more Fall/Winter Goddess fragrance. Maybe with some cardamom in the mid and musk in the base. What a shame!!

I really like the original Burberry Goddess and love the Idole Now. It seems a little stronger than the original Idole. But, I always enjoy the Nectar as well.🌷🍁🧡

I was utterly disappointed by Goddess Intense. I thought the lavender was far too intense, almost medicinal in fact. And I'm not a fan of patchouli in general but I suspect that it was added to boost Goddess' longevity. (Could they have added some Iso E Super instead? On my skin, Goddess Intense was a scrubber that was hard to get off. I absolutely agree with you that amping up the cacao and ginger and dialing down the lavender could have made a more appealing flanker.

I remember when Idôle Now was first released a lot of people were making fun of the name & didn’t even want to try it because they thought the name was “stupid.” They should have called it “Wow!” You could have solved their marketing problems, Maria. 😂
I personally love it, and judging from the number of compliments I get when I wear it, it is a wow fragrance.

I feel like they were lazy with Burberry Goddess Intense. You had an entire year to present a wow fragrance and the best you could come up with is this? I'll stick to the Original version, it's gorgeous!

B &B works has one called Pure wonder the spray smells like donna born in roma to me. It has Jasmine, iced rose, warm white amber. It’s def a layering scent that amps it up.

The Meleg duo sounds so special. Can live without Burberry Goddess part one and 2 😂. Smells horrible on my skin, like the akigala wood accord from Angel Nova. Scrubbed it three times off my skin and that sucker just won’t go 😂. For those who like it, you can’t complain about longevity, that’s for sure.

Idol now is very beautifull and long lasting, I love Burberry Goddess intense too, its beautifull deep vanilla in the drydown.

I agree about thr new goddess intense, and ive heard others say the same about not loving it. Patchouli is being overused 😢. Ill stick to the original. Have you smelled devotion intense? Inhavebt yet, im scared it will be a similar story as goddeas.

The only new release I like so far is the new Hermes Barenia. It stands out among all the others which all smell the same and boring. Barenia reminds me of the old elegant fragrances, but it's a modern take on elegance. It has quite strong patchouli, but it's not an overwhelming fragrance. It's very feminine and I love it.
