I always used measuring cups and never realized how inaccurate they can be for counting calories...Thank you for the info!

Wow, the information about “fluid ounces” being a measure of volume was mind blowing! I’ll definitely be changing my units to grams.

Thanks for the information about weighing meat raw or cooked. Consistency of whichever method makes sense.

I think you should technically measure caloric fluids using “Milliliters”. Grams are measurements of Mass.
Edited to add. Love your video and subscribed!👍🏼

Woof. What a good looking hunk you are. Great informative video and so well done. I'm amazed at the difference there is in weighing on a scale or using measuring cups. What a huge difference this will make in baking. Thanks so much . I was unclear on how to use the scale I have. You sure cleared this up for me.

Every week I cook oatmeal in bulk to use for breakfast. When cooking the oatmeal, I boil it it almond milk, rather than water. Much of the milk boils off in the process, however the end product is still heavier than it would be otherwise. What is the best method for calculating the final calory content of the oatmeal?

Hi Dustin. So if my raw meat was 500gram and cooked was 307g, then I go 500 divide by 307 = 1.62
If I want to serve myself 100gram of this cooked meat then I would go 100 x 1.62 = 162grams meaning that in my fitness pal instead of putting in 100grams, I would change it to 162grams of ‘raw’. Is this correct?

How do you even know how much calories your serving has?

What if we mix vegetables and sauces with the ground beef while cooking it? The math wouldn’t be accurate.
