The point of the product is it works on all phones, even if they don't have an external antenna jack. There is a low power transceiver in the cradle to facilitate this.

A signal booster or amplifier like this can only work if it can pick up a cell signal. That's why the antenna is outside of the box. The box represents the inside of your home or car with no signal. You place the antenna in an ideal location where it can pick up a signal, letting you use your phone in your home/car.

just ordered w/ home kit. i live up on the mountain, have 1-2 bars 3g and data is sloooow (in the 2-700 kbs range). reason i think this will work well is on the other side of the ridge i can get 3 bars of 4g and hit 20mbs! will check in with results

Cool, only problem I see is that the antenna doesn't appear to be inside the box so the Faraday cage is pointless...

except this is supposed to be a in home solution and isn't meant to be routed all way outside your home, so showing the antenna outside the box was dumb, they should have done a speedtest outside the box with no booster, then compared those results to a speedtest outside the box with a booster.

Obviously you didn't quite get the representation. I'll dumb it down a bit, just for you <3:

The Faracage is suppose to represent your house/car/closed building.

As you can see you don't get a lot of signal when the faracage is closed.

You stick the antenna outside and make the signal pass though the inside of the house/car/closed building where you and your phone is located

And boom, you get better signal.

Understand, son?

Two things:

1. I don't live in a faraday cage!
2. Those are some really slow LTE speeds even among as you say other wireless equipment...

Oh also, like I said before, you can use ANY external antenna and get similar results thus rendering this presentation pointless since it only proves that connecting to an external antenna will bring signal into a closed environment. Putting the antenna INSIDE the Faraday cage (it is not a faracage as there is no such thing...) would show how the amplifier being showcased could pull a signal in even when under normal circumstances nothing gets through. Understand, dad?

ahh no, to prove how effective it is the whole thing should be inside so we can see it pull signal into a closed environment. But since clearly you're so much more intelligent than I, judging on your amazing replies here, maybe you can tell me how putting it inside the Faraday cage with an antenna that is outside the Faraday cage proves anything other than you can run a wire inside a Faraday cage to provide signal to your device? You can use ANY external antenna and get similar results. Genius.
