Many of the comments really miss the point of this vdo. He is in no way of saying the X100VI is bad (As I can tell from many defensive comments like they are Fuji shareholder). If you watch around 8:00 of the vdo you will know that he is suggesting that the camera is for certain type of people with specific needs. He suggests an alternative which are clearly comparable to the X100VI as they can provide similar results with more flexibility.

Terrific video. I really appreciate you taking the time to link everything that you did so thoughtfully!

XT-30ii with the 27mm 2.8 is the best reason to not get the X100. It's very similar and you get the benefit of being able to use all the other wonderful X-mount lenses. I'm glad I made this choice

I hate that hipsters broke the market for this camera

The hype has to be people trying to make money on resale.

I've been shooting a (special edition) XT30 since launch 2019. The only thing missing is weather sealing; the reason why I was having a hard choice between the XT3 and XT30. I decided to go with XT30 because of smaller size and lower weight.
I have the Fuji 18mm f/2, the Fuji 27mm f/2.8 and the Samyang 12mm f/2. This pack is extremely small and weighs almost nothing and lets me do what I want. (Or else I adapt vintage lenses for specific purposes and/or looks.)
You can pick up an used XT30 in good to perfect state between 500-600 Euros. The cheapest used, modern Fuji camera you can buy. For the XT3 you still have to fork out 800-900 Euros in good state! Used Fuji prices are extremely inflated since their popularity rose.

I certainly wouldn’t pay the type of money they are asking for a fixed lens camera. Social media has hyped up this camera to the point where it is almost unattainable through price and availability. I have a Fuji XT-20 and I still love it.

I was going to buy it as my first fuji camera but decide to go with X-T3 that I found in really good condition for super cheap that came with the XF 18-55. Honestly happy I went that route.

Been shooting the xt-2 with a 35 1.4 basically glued on it. I am beyond stoked to get my hands on this camera, less is more in my thoughts. loved your video, cheers

i think the beauty of the x100 line is the fact that it has a fixed lens, for me i shoot Sony.. i have lots of Sony lens and and the fact i can buy a Fuji and enjoy the fun of shooting it with out the need to buy into the Fuji lens line is a huge perk.

I've HAD Sony fullframe with many lenses, and went back to Fuji for the compact size and the FUN of photography. You know you've heard it: the Fuji magic is real! I got the XE-4 with the 27mm WR pancake lens, which makes it an extremely small package. And that is what brings the fun for me, the jpg recepies and the formfactor. Bring back the fun to photography! I'm considering the X100VI, but pretty happy with my small little setup as is. We'll see. Thanks for this video.

Comparing any X100 model to any interchangable lens camera somewhat misses the point.

My start was and still is with X-T100 - The most casual Fuji (and at the time of me buying camera, the only Fuji that was reasonably priced I could get my hands on). It is enough and it is fun

I shot profesionally for 10+ years and etired from professional shooting in 2020. The only camera that survived the great gear purge was X100V. I've owned original X100, X100F, X100V and now X100VI. People are only waking up to how great this camera family is. I made my most previous personal photos with these cameras.

Delighted to have discovered your channel, Mark. Your presentations are down-to-earth, yet polished, and free of the hype so often encountered in photography videos (and of the stumbly speech patterns and dreadful mic quality or technique that also mar too much of this category). While I've been a Canon EOS user since film days, I've not yet bought into the mirrorless realm, and still shooting as many (non-Canon) film SLRs as I do, the Fuji "traditional" control layouts on such as the XT-1-4 series is a powerful tactile draw should I ever take the step into mirrorless. So, doubly glad to find realistic reports on Fuji's dizzying array of models.
Speaking of your presentation and technical quality, curious which mic you are using here. Really nice quality. Thanks!

First reasonable take I've seen on this topic haha. Pros and cons explained clearly and offering some solid alternatives. I love my x100vi. I spent a year trying to find a reasonably priced used V here in Canada and had no luck. Even now there are marketplace listings for used x100v's only 300 less than the brand new vi. Obvious choice for me but I completely agree that someone just getting into photography would benefit more from an interchangeable lens body. Great video!

Love the X100 series. Bought the first one when it first came out and fell in love with Photography again. Shot many weddings with the X100F. Ridiculous to call this a point and shoot Camera.

Love when you pulled out all the X-Mount lenses, really helps to put things in perspective.

I had the original X100 and really enjoyed it but eventually got frustrated by the fixed focal length.
After an LX100, RX100 1 & IV, and a Canon G5X I settled on a Sony s6000, then upgraded to an a6400. Very happy!

I sold the x100v for a near similar size a7iii with a 45mm 1.8 Rokinon. Camera came with a 28-75 2.8 as well. Had some change leftover also. Probably will wait 6 months and will look for the x100vi
