Rereading: Rereading can create a false sense of fluency. Just because you recognize the information when you read it again doesn't necessarily mean you'll remember it later when needed, especially in a different context like an exam.
Copying Notes: Simply copying notes verbatim without actively engaging with the content may not contribute much to understanding. It's better to rewrite notes in your own words, ask questions, or create summaries to ensure comprehension.
Ignoring Weaknesses: Some students may avoid studying topics they find challenging or dislike. However, focusing only on familiar subjects can lead to uneven knowledge development. Addressing weaknesses is crucial for a well-rounded understanding.
Relying Solely on One Method: Using only one study method might not optimize understanding. A combination of active learning strategies, such as self-quizzing, teaching the material, and applying knowledge, is often more effective.
Cramming: Last-minute cramming might help you remember information temporarily, but it's less effective for long-term retention. Spacing out your study sessions over time (spaced repetition) is generally more beneficial.

Neuroscience. Can you tell me what the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus are responsible for? Can you tell me what Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy is? What about Normal Pressure vs communicating hydrocephalus? Can you tell me what Cerebral Spinal Fluid is for? Where are the ventricles of the brain? I study a few areas. Greek mythology is a personal favorite. Apparently, Ancient Greek drachmae can be purchased on the web. It was used as a currency in Ancient Greece and was buried with the deceased. An obol was a silver coin in Ancient Greece that was approximately 1/6 of a drachmae.
