Let's get creative on the computer! Using a simple paint program is a great way to encourage creativity in Computing lessons, improve fine motor skills, and include some cross-curricular learning.

In this video, we show you how to teach basic skills in MS Paint, including changing brushes, changing colours, adding shapes, filling areas with colour and adding text. Why not combine these skills to make a brilliant illustration for a class book?

We go on to look at exploring artists and art styles using MS Paint. Can your children use Georges Seurat's Pointillist paintings as inspirations for a dotty masterpiece? Can they create different shapes to make a Picasso inspired Cubist self-portrait? Or maybe they could explore colour and the copy and paste function to make their own Andy Warhol style Pop Art?
