Dell Inspiron - 2,5Tb SSD & 16GB RAM Upgrade

I ordered and recieved a 2tb Intel SSD and and 8GB extra RAM to upgrade the Dell Inspiron 15 7590 and make it into a proper powerhouse.
Recommended parts:
While the process wasn't super easy it was well worth it to get the laptop up to the specification it is now at.
The next video will be about undervolting the processor and turning off turbo boost to see how the thermals and performance are changed from that.

Super easy. 10 minutes, $25 to double your memory. I performed my upgrade on a 7591 and it was a very similar procedure.

RAM not detected!!

Your trouble shooting post RAM installation was spot on 👍. Adding more RAM to slot B results in the computer not even booting up as you experienced. Your solution worked, swap the RAM modules. On restart I'd forgot to reconnect the battery, which meant the BIOS started and said the previous start up the RAM wasn't detected but now the RAM has changed. Reconnected the battery and all the RAM is functioning correctly 👍😁.

Can you try running the sRGB, and other color testing things to get the scores?

You could try to change the included fans to see if by installing new and improved laptop fans the laptop becomes quieter.

Hey there. Thanks a lot for continuing to upload videos about the Inspiron. I'm watching very closely hahaha. I'm currently looking at this laptop and the new XPS 15 which is releasing this week, but I really can't decide which one could be the better option. I'm not sure if I've already asked this, but how are the fan noises under normal use? Other people have said their units have very loud fan speeds when the computer is running normally. Thanks a lot!

Great video. Thanks for uploading. I'm going to get a 1TB M2 2280 SSD for my Dell 7573 2-in-1 since I see there's a slot for it. Right now they're around $120 US. I currently have a 2TB HDD and I'm thinking of leaving it in there just for storage (movies). Is that ok to do, or should it be removed?

Again thank you for these videos, this laptop looks amazing and I'm really looking forward to potentially purchasing it in September, the only issue I have is that in the UK where I live you can only get the 97 watt hour battery with the i7 model but I will call customer support and see if they can change that, if so that would be awesome.

This is on a really good sale right now... only downside is that its only 8gb of RAM so I was wondering if you can upgrade it... This video shows you can.

But some guys on the Internet wrote that this is the case only for i9 models.
Still the one on Vostro looks pretty serious.



BTW some guy on Reddit wrote that he managed to install 64Gb ram to XPS. I wonder if this is the case for Vostro as well. Not that I need it - just speculating)
CPU obviously supports it but motherboards and BIOS are different.

But I have a question regarding the Vostro 7590. Is it possible to put a second SSD in it and does the second SSD I want to buy have to be a M.2 SATA SSD or a M.2 PCIe SSD ?

Hi @w2best, can I upgrade the main ssd to 1 TB ? the main one has official limit of 512 GB.
