This is a passion project I worked on over a long time and I'm very happy with how it's turned out. It's essentially an orchestral medley of music by the band Children Of Bodom that I've tied together into a sort of cinematic, symphonic tribute. It occurred to me recently that much of their music does hold a certain epic neo-classical, symphonic quality that translates perfectly into an orchestral context. I also have listened to them religiously since I was 13 and I know most of their music inside out which helps!
They're a band that have had a massive impact on me musically... Their music means a hell of lot to me and has influenced so much of my writing. I really have a lot to owe them for inspiring 14 year old me to spend hours every day practicing guitar, I certainly would not be where I am today without them.
So enjoy- 'Children of Bodom: A Symphonic Tribute'

The average person, people who aren't Melo-death fans, they don't understand, but from their perspective, this is what COB sounds like to us. What I mean and I hope you'll understand this, but Metal sounds amazing under classical arrangement and this is how COB's music would move us. It really accentuates the beauty of the music Alexi brought into the world. Whether you're a Death Metal fan or not, who can deny THIS? RIP Alexi. Gone, but not forgotten. Your music has made you immortal. You will live on!

Thank you all so so much for the amazing response to this over the past few months. I've never had this kind of reaction to anything I've made before and I'm absolutely overwhelmed by the love and support that so many people have shown. I really am glad that I could create something that seems to have resonated with so many people. Children of Bodom have always been one of those bands that have stuck with me through and through since I was a kid. Their music means a hell of a lot to me and I'm so happy to be able to reach out to this many people through the power of their sound. I'm praying that Alexi and the guys themselves will eventually hear this and realise just how brilliant and moving their music really is. So keep sharing and maybe it will happen! Much love.

Can't believe Alexi's gone. Really hit home when I got the news. These were the sounds of my teen years. So many memories.

Shows how great COBs compositions really are: metal or not! Good music is good music no matter the genre it is put in. Very well arranged. Seriously Incredible!

3:55 and I'm in tears. In that precise moment all of my memories of the times I spent in my bedroom listening to CoB and writing my own music and hoping that one day I will be in a band and actually being on stage playing gigs a few years later just hit me hard, knowing that magic will never repeat. I would give anything to be able to live through it one more time without knowing what's gonna be next.

But, but, wasn't metal just random noise? In your face!

This just showcases his musical genius that translates to other genres even though it was written for metal. A true musical genius & incredible guitarist who will be greatly missed. Rest easy Alexi :)
