"Star Fox! We need you! It's been too long since you last had a home console game. Please return to the Lylat System!"

Well fellow Star Fox fans, your request has been answered. Star Fox Zero for the Wii U is latest title in the incredibly popular Star Fox series. But with all these changes to the game like motion controls and new vehicles, can this new title really hold up against the classic Star Fox 64? Well, hopefully with this video, you can answer that question today.

Enjoy!

Thanks to Nintendo for a free copy of Star Fox Zero for this review!

I feel that once people get the hang of the controls, they'll like it a lot more. It was like with me and Kid Icarus Uprising. At first, I couldn't stand the controls, but after an hour or so of playing, I got the hang of them, and now it's one of my favorite 3DS games. Hopefully this leads Star Fox into a bright future.

I keep seeing "motion controls r bad" reviews that look like they were written by people whose first console was a PS2. Thank you for this. I haven't even watched it yet but I already know you're going to give this game a fair review. BTW if the motion controls are anything as good as they were in Splatoon, this is going to be my favorite game ever.

Corneria is just a homage level. All of the other levels are completely different

this is certainly one of the most positive and in-depth reviews I've seen of this game. so far I've watched 3 other reviews which have seemed overly negative (ign, gamexplain). subbed!

Star Fox Zero, a game so aptly named because it contains the review score in its title.

Don't worry guys, you can ignore the gamepad and only use the TV if you want to.

Would you do an Animal Crossing Beta? There was some content that was cut from the original game, such as the missing worlds and an unused Villager named Blazel.

Star Fox Zero definitely lived up to its hype. The hype days were real and the best days of my life. It's the best Wii U game ever. Every one's complaining about the controls, the motion controls make the game so much fun.

My question is... what if there are people who do take the time to learn the controls... and STILL find the game to be a clunky, uncomfortable chore?

There's this close-minded consensus I'm seeing amongst Nintendo die hards who automatically dismiss anybody who complains about the controls. Their logic being, "They just didn't take the time to learn and appreciate the controls. If they did, they'd eventually see how genius and fun this game is!"

But what about those who HAVE adjusted to the controls? What about those who have mastered the learning curve... and still find the game to be a merely mediocre titledwith a needlessly convoluted control scheme? Does that make their opinion any less informed since they've formed a different opinion that goes against die hards?

Point blank: these controls are divisive. Even taking the time to thoroughly learn them doesn't automatically mean a lightbulb will go off and that person will suddenly find the game to be fun... or even "genius, " which is really stretching it. Nintendo has made a control scheme that will not click with everyone, even if they take the time to learn it's ins and outs. And automatically dismissing anybody who complains about the controls as being somebody who didn't take the time to learn the controls is wrong.

If the controls work for you--great. But don't assume everyone complaining about the controls didn't take the time to learn them. Maybe they did... and they just didn't find the game to be innovative, intuitive... or even good. This is one of those games where there's no clear cut answer as to whether it's bad or good. It's something you'll have to experience for yourself... and your experience will arguably vary wildly from another gamer's experience with the game.

Well... knowing that it's going to be gyroscope controls I'm out. I couldn't stand it in Splatoon, or the Zelda HD games. I don't have stable enough hands to deal with it. Makes me really sad.

I loved this game...I hope we won't have to wait for centuries for just another game

Switch your view on the Gamepad and TV and you'll be watching the TV most of the time with the better visuals. You're welcome ;)
I'll most likely be playing it exclusively on the gamepad so I can aim and see everything around me on the same screen. A bit more classic star fox feeling.

he basically admitted at the end of the review that this is bias and please do more research

The thing I really liked about the Gyrowing is the 3D sound it makes of a chopper when you move, but yeah, it's a completely change of pace there, especially when you drop Direct-i to hack the panels. I agree with the fact that is more fun going through Zoness with the Arwing.

They want you to hold the gamepad up anyway so you look at both screens at the same time.

Nintendo needs to stop with this "you have to play it with the game pad" mentality.
Give us both options to use the pad or a normal controller.
This is another game I will not buy because of this limitation.

Is it bad that I jumped right in, became an expert and it took no time?
