wait till crowranaburger realizes that one of the wimpy kid books has Manny hold the American flag but in other versions of one of the books Manny holds a different flag to represent the country that particular book was released in. For example in the UK version of one of the books Manny would hold the UK flag because that was where the book was released Etc. Etc. 🙂

As someone who's fluent in Spanish, hearing you speak it was hilarious lol. The Japanese version of Wimpy Kid is also really interesting! It's called グレッグのダメ日記 (Gureggu no dame nikki), which translates to Greg's useless diary. The cover is also very different, and I really like how they made Greg use the word ボク (boku) when saying "Me" or "I" instead of 私 (watashi) like most other books do. Since boku is used for young boys, I think it fits him! And Rodrick uses the phrase 俺 (ore) which is more of an informal way of saying "Me" or "I", which also fits him. Oh, and Greg calls Rodrick 兄ちゃん (Nii-chan) which is sort of an informal-like way of saying big brother, which I find cute lol.

The funniest diary wimpy kid translation is the Scottish version. Which while it is english, due to all the cultural differences it's quite hard to read.

The Swedish version is called "Diary for all of my fans" and the first book is called "Gregs bravado"

At my old elementary school, in the library there was a french version of Wimpy Kid called: "Journal d'un dégonflé". On the cover it had a picture of Greg and Rowley looking at each other. I don't know why they changed the picture for the french version, but it was kinda interesting.

(Also, Journal d'un dégonflé translates to "Diary of a deflated" for those wondering.)

In French it’s translated to “Journal d’un lâche” which roughly translate to “Journal of a Wimp”. So in that version, it isn’t a diary, it’s a journal.

In Germany all books Are called „Greg’s Diary“, Rowley is called Rupert and „löded diper“ is called „folle Windl“ which also translate to „loaded Diaper“ but wrongly spelled

I have a copy of Wimpy Kid that is "translated" in a scottish accent XD (like WRITTEN in english but all the words are changed to sound like you're reading in a scottish accent). It's called "Diary of a Wimpy Wean" XD

there was a day (months ago) when i was thinking about this, and i had a random crazy dream where i was going to a bookstore and i would find different alternate versions of the DOAWK books, they weren't absurd (as are the fan versions), they actually looked like they could have been released (except for a few that were more questionable).

As a Mexican this is a really common book so it isn’t really rare, you can just go to a library and there is a 70% chance you’ll find it

Also the Diario del Wimpy kid is a Spanish version for Spain, if it were to be wimpy kid y guess it could be. Diario de un niño debilucho or more posibbly Diario de un perdedor (really think Diario de Greg works better though)

Some of the international wimpy kid books have differ covers from the American version. For example the German cover of Rodrick Rules has Greg standing on top of a toilet. And the Chinese cover is literally the first one but blue.

I'm Brazilian, so in Portuguese, Diary of a wimpy kid calls “Diário de um banana”, to be clear it's like “Diary of a banana” This is a fruit for us too, but in this case banana is used to say that someone is wimpy.

In Irish, it's called "Dialann Dúradáin" which literally translates into "Diary of the Stupid one".
Also it's worth pointing out that Rodrick Rules is "Rodrick Abú" in Irish, which translates to "Rodrick Forever".

Also, none of the names are translated, but Rodrick's band, Löded Diper, is "translated" to "Klujeen Lawn" which is a direct pronunciation of "Cluidín Lán" which means "Full Diaper".
