The game looks interesting but I have yet to play a Far Cry game so this may be a good starting point. I'll wait for full reviews to come out before I buy it though

Wear the Scrounger clothing set. It is one of the first sets you get. You will detect the caches and loot easier, can find it through walls with the camera and pick up loot dropped from dead animals, destroyed vehicles, and killed enemies while inside a vehicle. It also repairs vehicles while you are inside. Drive around and fly helicopters low too as the caches will show on your radar. Just pick up everything. Read every note, sign, or plaque too.

If you are in a vehicle and on a road and you have highlighted a destinations you can press shit to auto drive. It only goes half speed and sometimes gets stuck, but usually it works fine. Hit the bathroom or get something to eat and let it drive for you. You can speed it up if you want to but then it can not make the tight corners so you need to be careful.

The treasure hunts give you good stuff... do them. After a few you will learn what you usually need to do, like shoot a lock on a door through a window. Look for notes because some will need things done in a specific order. Cryptograph chests actually point what direction to go for the clues and typically mark the path with blue. Sometimes they are close, but sometimes you need to dive to get them or go into the next building or a small island.

Make sure you do the mission board as soon as you have a leader. You get a ton of resources and money this way and as you go on you can get some of the rare resources for crafting. It uses people though but you get them from clearing checkpoints and bases, graffiti posters, and freeing hostages.
