Vitamin A, AKA retinoic acid, is an essential fat soluble vitamin with multiple important functions in the body.

Eyes - vitamin A benefits eye health
Vitamin A helps in estrogen and testosterone metabolism. It is important for a healthy GI tract, healthy skin, and benefits eye sight.

Vitamin A functions to help thyroid hormone (T3) interact with the DNA to help improve metabolism.

With a vitamin A deficiency, thyroid medications can be less effective. It is important to ask your doctor to measure your vitamin A deficiency when you are taking thyroid medication.

Vitamin A deficiency can be caused by damage to the GI tract (especially from gluten) as well as gall bladder dysfunction, and poor dietary choices.

Very interesting, thank you. I've heard that selenium is also important for thyroid function. Have you done a video about this, or perhaps you would be so kind? Thanks again. ;)

Doesn’t vitamin A accumulate in the liver in toxic amounts? Aren’t there studies on cadavers that look at this?

Which nutrients are most absorbed in the small intestine directly below the stomach? I had several feet there removed? Going grain-free massively helped my health, but I don't have a dr. who will order such tests. Thanks!

Since vitamin A is fat soluble, how then can you accurately test for it? You have no actual idea of how much is stored in the liver and other organs and adipose tissue. Just like the stupid vitamin/hormone d test for the storage form of D, which also is stored in fat tissue, etc. It's like checking your fuel line to see how much gas you have in the tank.
