How to remove pedals from a bike

Point the wrench up in the air and push it towards the back of the bike. Just remember BACK OFF when you’re removing your pedals.

Thanks for the tip. If you put the crank straight to the bottom you can put the Allen key in a 90 degree angle into the pedal and so dont risk smashing your hand into the chain when the bolt loosens... This way you can also use your feet to get al little more power on the allen key.

The first indicator of loosening it right is to turn where the crank back pedal and the cogs does not spin with the wheel.
While the cogs and the wheel locks together on tightening pedal.

The reason for that is to make sure the pedals doesnt come loose when pedaling hard

Having a background in bike and automotive repair, I keep a medium duty cordless impact wrench on hand just in case. Works wonders on stuck pedals and cranks.

No. Crank at six a clock, tool parallel with the chain towards the back and press down to the ground. This way you don't smash you hands in the chainring.
