Hum - Stars cover

I remember back when I heard this song for the first time. Immediately after, I went out and bought my first guitar. Much thanks to Cheefpoker for his bridge tutorial video. I wasn't really trying to play anything different between both guitars but rather just have both tracks mixed together. I think it sounds better that way.

It's a custom tone I made in my POD XT. It's pretty much the same tone I always use in my videos. I just modify it a little when I need to. Those are actually Gibson 490R and 498T pickups. I switched them out from the old epiphone pickups. The only real editing done was I run both guitar tracks through an EQ setting that boosts the bass and reduces hiss and then I pan each track 50% left and 50% right then mix it with the original song.

I needed a "heavier" tone for this song and I didn't want to mess with EQ settings so I went with the strat. It's got a humbucker in the bridge.

The harmonics between guitars is great. Still love the "muddy" sound the original has throughout, but this is a great musical interpretation.

Hey! your using the first 2 guitars i ever owned. Just wish i had the humbucker at the bridge for the strat. Either way great job man. you covered this with precision which is hard to find. Good ear.

this is nice!!! the guitar parts are perfect..if i could request a song for u to cover..its really nice!! its a band from the nintys called Sunny day real estate...i would like to ask if you could cover 7? its thier best song...my advice to you is to listen to it over and over...but only if u can accept...but i give this cover a 8.5/10 lol...the song sounded alittle off timing..but that could be my ears deciving me but thats niot my big worry...u nailed it though nice job!!!

Usually sounds better coming straight from the amp to my ears because after I record into my computer the sound either has too much treble or too much bass.

Great cover man. Also, is that a Mexican Strat? and if so, how is it, like how does it feel, play, stay in tune, and hows the trem (if you use it), I've been thinking of getting one. Once again, excellent job, I'd also be curious what you recorded the video with and put it together in, it's nice.
