For anyone that hasn't listened to their 2020 record Inlet, I can't recommend highly enough that you listen to it NOW. It's honestly their best work to date. Seriously.

This song is such a gem. Huge distortion, chug palm mutes and a metal inspired breakdown section.

Thanks for the lesson; I love HUM! Fun fact about this record (and all the other HUM records): almost every single guitar part is triple-tracked, no matter how intricate the passage. The producer said he'd never seen a guitarist able to recreate a performance so exactly and both players did it. That's why HUM sounds so huge!

Wow!!!! Didn't expect to ever hear this online, let alone a tutorial vid. Thank you for bringing back an absolute classic track from an epic album!! Thank you to the dude who requested it.

I'm so happy that you cover these 90's gems. They take me back to when I first picked up a guitar. I still remember struggling mightily when trying to figure out what was going on during the verse back in 95 with no YouTube to help. I had to either figure it out myself or hope a friend knew how to play it 😄

The way you explained the bridge riff was great, most of us havent been able to really nail that part, always playing it like a pentatonic hammer on... thanks for nailing it

People really slept on this band! Several amazing songs on this album and their next one. You should check out "Green to Me" if you wanna some of the sweetest "chorusy distortion" you'll ever hear. Long live Hum, long live space rock!

Awesome! This really fills in a lot of gaps for things I could never really hear properly in such a dense mix. Thanks for that!

Hum are fucking KILLER!! Best song of that era, and their albums are great. If You Are to Bloom is another great song.

My favorite band of all time! Heavenly Droning, endless feedback and pummeling drums and bass.

I uploaded a playthrough of this amazing song 13 years ago. It pleases me to see people still embracing this band. I love how you play the chunky bridge riff. Totally different than I play it but the notes are all there! Happily subscribing sir! Looking forward to diving into your channel. Cheers!

Rip their drummer Bryan. Most underrated drummer in my opinion. The scientist is one of my fave songs of theirs. Been a giant fan since 1995.

There are A LOT of tabs that show the bridge played differently, and no matter how much I practiced, it was never in time. I watched the 120 minutes performance of this, and it was nothing like how the tabs were written...this tutorial is played the way they play it live. To me, that is the "correct" way...the way the author plays it live. Great stuff!!

Anyone who enjoys this song and isn’t familiar with Hum’s catalog, definitely check them out. Filet Show was their first album that I’m aware of. Not my favorite as it’s early and they’re finding their sound. It’s more raw and aggressive but there are some good tracks. Electra 2000 was next and is awesome. My favorite album of theirs. You’d Prefer An Astronaut is where Stars came from so you likely know of it. Downward is Heavenward was next and I thought it was better than YPAA. Lastly, after a 22 year break(?!?!) they released Inlet in 2020. After all these years they’ve stayed true to their sound. I don’t like Inlet like Electra 2000 but there are a handful of great tracks on there. Go check them out and see what you think. Good stuff!

It’s a shame their drummer passed away this last year. Knowing them they won’t make anymore albums after Inlet (2020)

This is one of my favorite songs! So cool to see this. Great band! I seen them with Bush and The toadies back in 94/95 maybe?. Can’t remember the exact year. Anyway, rock on! 🤘
