Hey everyone, it’s Randy from Game & Gig. Welcome to this week’s PlayStation News Minute. One huge announcement from Sony completely dominated all conversation around PlayStation this week. But before we get to that, let’s talk exclusives. Specifically, Horizon: Forbidden West, which has been out for a week now. We’ve received initial sales figures from the UK, and it looks like the game had a great opening weekend, being the second biggest PS5 launch so far, only behind Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It seems that the Horizon IP is here to stay, as a VR spin-off game is also in the works. Which brings us to the top story this week, which was the reveal of PlayStation VR2. The look of the headset is very much in line with the aesthetics of the PS5 console, which makes sense, but one thing we still don’t know is how much this headset will cost. Sony’s original PSVR launched in 2016 for $500, a price that seemed steep to many at the time. Unfortunately, I expect that this new headset will likely also launch at $500, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a higher price. But who knows, maybe competition from less expensive VR headsets, like Quest 2, will drive Sony to lower costs.

Extremely unpopular opinion but could be a reasonable trade off. Honestly if Sony doesn’t want to support pc what would be a fair trade off is if you have the PS5 since you need to have it to run the headset then the PSVR2 could maybe get pc support if you have a PS5 registered to your account. Then Sony still sells more PS5s and pc players could be semi more happy. Another possible option that would be extremely awkward and put off way too much heat. But if you could buy a dongle or a splitter that connect your ps5 and your pc. That would both prove you have a PS5 and be usable for offline play. And they could maybe sell it for like $50. Again, I don’t like that option but obviously Sony is gonna have to acknowledge that every once in a while releasing something from the console in a later date to the pc makes Sony so much profit. Especially with out communities work like on the first day of Spider-Man release on steam people were working on a Kermit the frog mod. It’s like the Dual sense edge of Sony wanted the win they would probably make it cheap but they obviously don’t. With this Sony needs the win to recover from the PSVR and the moon controllers. The moon controllers are like the newton of console and or vr gaming. But yeah it’s really based on how bad Sony themselves wants the win.

For a vr headset like that $500 is really cheap so hopefully it is

Yeah 499, 99€ if it's going to be available, there still isn't any regular console sale, so what's the point?
