Those biting flies chase your vehicle like that in the Jersey Pines too. Our solution - wear a towel over your head that covers your neck. Usually does pretty good.

Nice video! I've seen tons of box turtles this year, I helped one across the road the other day, and I just went herping for a little while and almost stepped on one. There everywhere. Also found a lifer rough green snake!

3:14 🤣 Hate flies like that, not sure there's a full proof repellent other than stuff that has high % of Deet. 😕 Not sure that even works sometimes. Heard of some people using lemon eucalyptus oil, but personally never tried it. Wish I had a swamp yard.

Im from Texas, we ha giant black horse flies and there really only one way to get away from them RUN!!!

I eat lots of garlic, that keeps the flies from overwhelming me

Haha. Disgusting. We have them here that bad in the real northern ny. During the months of june and july they are that bad here. I got a place we nicked named Turtle Haven and theres a hord of them like that before u ever get a chance to get out of the car. Were a boonie hat with a cut up tshirt underneath to protect your neck. Puff on a cigar. That might get ya thru for a few hrs. For some reason the hat works great. There'll be less circling your head even.
