In this episode of ‘Editorial,’ Mr. Sujit Nair raises an important question: has India truly benefited from PM Modi’s recent visit to the G7 Summit in Italy?

PM Modi embarked on his first international trip during his third term just four days after being sworn in, and even before his confidence vote, highlighting the significance of the G7 outreach for him. India was one of 12 countries invited to the resort town of Fasano in Italy’s Apulia region, as part of Italian PM Meloni’s initiative to involve the Global South with the G7, which is often viewed as an elitist group. In her effort to dispel the notion of the West vs. the Rest, she also invited Pope Francis, who addressed the G7 for the first time.

The world leaders were graced with the chance to see the non-biological celestial being in person. 😅

He said after the elections Pappu will go to Italy. And so our Pappu Minister went to Italy using tax-payers money.

This is what happens when you elect a PM who does not have any expertise in any field - whether it was economics or foreign policy or something else. So, for eg. take Vajpayee jee - he was a statesman whether he was in the seat or opposition, he was respected. Take Rao, he was a leader with exceptional talent with leadership to know who to have in his team. Take Manmohan, he was an economist who understood economics. Take Modi. what is he good at? tell me pls. I want to know.

Modi's visit this year was very significant. It gave Pope Francis the opportunity to see God in his own

Indians have to look at the photographs of PM ' s visits abroad & be happy. Don't ask for post visit press conference / briefing of what he achieved with his visits abroad for our country.

Just carrying out what he does best, visiting foreign countries, private visits to all Hindu relegious places with enormous publicity, give divisive speeches and of course fantastic costume changes not forgetting tremendous photo opportunities. What more can one ask of this honourable leader.

Everyone knows the PM is showcase person of himself, being present is not a great thing, how India is benefitted is the core issue
PM has and is always a showcase man of himself

Sadly our passport has no value if we are on par with other countries. I work for airlines and can understand the value of our Indian passport. Most of the countries have dual passports including countries less better than us. When will India be on par with our dual passport?

This guy goes to these events to open doors for his masters, not for farmers or artisans.

India has always been popular - nothing to do with current PM Ji. Indian PM is very fond of being seen in different photos. In spite of his visit to Italy, India didn’t gain anything but respected PM Ji enjoyed his break.

G7 meeting was a great opportunity.
Modi could take sefies with foreign leaders. He could avoid all the uncomfortable happenings and questions at home. After all, as a result of the phenomenal campaign and becoming PM, the G7 meeting was a nice outing.

Since ' Fascism ' was born in Italy India Govt could have benefitted from having a discussion on developing fascism in India. One Nation, One party, One Leader & One totalitarian state.

Excellent analysis. He can not solve the problem a tiny state in our country. He was invited for the summit because our country offers huge market for western products and they are doing their business. Our vishaguru is happy because of photo ops for projecting as a great leader without any benefits to Indians.
