How to Prepare your Mods for Stardew Valley 1.6

I've been asked what's going on with mods for the 1.6 update, so here's a quick summary! There's a lot of changes under the hood that will make older mods not work, so how do we deal with it?

UPDATE: Steam will be adding a branch to Stardew Valley, allowing you to swap back and forth between 1.5.6 and 1.6 at will!

Also, another point for the Stardrop mod manager, it'll easily allow you to run the game without mods if you want to play 1.6 vanilla!

I was just literally talking with my partner about SV 1.6 prep, and since it's going to be my first time playing in pc instead of the switch, I was ruminating about how mods would work with the new update and everything.
