Build an Ultra-Realistic River in the Alaskan Wilderness – Realistic Scenery Vol.21

If you’ve ever wanted to build an absolutely amazing river diorama complete with fish and other wildlife then this is the video for you!

This diorama was built to be HO scale and includes a number of 3D printed details like the fish, a photographer as well as a grizzly bear. Even though the techniques show are used to build a model train diorama in HO scale they can easily be adapted to basically any other scale! Whether you build in N scale, O scale or even the military model scales and war gamers all these techniques can be applied to you model building projects.

Adding deep pour resin to simulate amazing looking rivers is a skill I think all model railroaders should learn, it can truly transform your model scenery into something that looks stunning and will be sure to attract the attention of all onlookers.

Don’t forget to check out the pine trees video if you haven’t already seen it so you too can build a diorama just like this one with tiny fish and a bear looking for his next meal.

If you liked this video then you'll definitely want to check out the *'Working with Resin (Rivers & Oceans)'* Playlist, it has all the tutorials that have water features in the scene and will give you a really good understanding of all the tips and techniques when working with resin:

Hey Luke, you should do a diorama of the Australian bushfires to raise awareness and maybe get people to donate, or have the proceeds of the video go to the RFS or something.

Love your work mate, keep it up

Just an idea, or maybe a challenge:

Could you attempt a diorama that is set completely under water? I know there's an issue with needed to pour a rather large volume of resin, but the idea of a shipwreck diorama or something along those lines is very interesting!

I actually tried building my own using Luke's tips and it turned out pretty awesome. Lot of lessons learned but Luke really does a great job

I just realized that he’s doing this whole thing with it facing away from him, basically not looking at the “front.” That is so crazy! And to think I thought he couldn’t get any more talented

you should really try to do something fantasy or like sci-fi diorama, that would be cool

I remeber finding a love for painting with Bob Ross, and quickly became and artist. Here I find that passion in dioramas with Luke. Hopefully soon I'll actually be building alongside you!

WOOHOOOO....scenery!
Be careful with the salmon epoxy btw...some 5min epoxy resins (actually most of them) turn really yellow when cured.
