The Streets of Nigeria's Elite | Lagos

Ikoyi is Nigeria's most expensive neighbourhood. An exclusive island in Lagos first laid out by British colonists, it has become an area for the elite. Originally residential, it now compromises office towers, luxury hotels and sports clubs.

Join us as we explore some of the most famous streets on foot, meeting some of the parallel communities living and working alongside the gated compounds. It's what makes Lagos, Lagos.

In Part 2 (of 2), we start around Queen's Drive (Oyinkan Abayomi Dr), the home of banking leaders, the British Deputy High Commissioner and a Lebanese business tycoon. Walking along Bourdillon we get up close to the most iconic house of the Jagaban himself, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, before a quick trim and game of Baba Ijebu. At the end of a long day, it's the exclusive and discreet George Hotel on Lugard Avenue for a well deserved bit of food.

Hope you enjoying watching. Thank you everyone who watched part one, it really meant a huge amount to me.

What I noticed from the amount charged for the things you bought on the street are not inflated cos of the color of your skin. And you're so comfortable moving around says a lot about your being a part of the environment. Plus the people are just natural and fun to be with. Keep pushing the right narratives. We love you ❤❤❤

As a Nigerian in the UK I really appreciate how you endeavour to learn Yoruba and Pidgeon to a degree and have clearly a lot of love and respect for the land. Your pronounciation and accent is a tadddd bit off haha but still great work

Nigerians are beautiful people, very humble and down to earth. This is what the leaders have taken for granted. The lady at the bread and zobo joint speaks very fluent English yet on the street...Karma will deal with these wicked nigerian leaders.

@6:21 You said there's no Baba Ijebu outside his own house😅😅😅 that got me Lmao... Great job brov, nice one and I'm happy to see the current look of my neighbourhood growing up. I lived in Ikoyi for a cummulative 28years and i witnessed it all, from the colonial era buildings, to when it was mainly a civil and public servants allocated residency, and then the public privatisation of federal govt properties in Ikoyi during former President Obasanjo tenure which transformed it to what it is today.

Another great video! Every week, I take a walk around Ikoyi, Lagos, to observe the latest developments of high-rise buildings, particularly along Bourdillon, Gerard, and Alexander roads.

With the exception of the residences of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Late Herbert Wigwe 😞😞😞, the other opulent home is still a mystery to me, but this video has helped to shed some light on it.

Seeing you provide alms to the poor on the street is incredibly charitable.

Thanks for the video, it always nice and lovely, notice oyinbo don’t really mean foreigners, it mostly used to acknowledge a light skinned person

Terrific video. the last time I was in Ikoyi was back in the 1980s. The contrast between the unimaginable wealth of the few and the abject poverty of many just a few miles away in Makoko, is hard for me to reconcile. But thank you for sharing. Your pronunciation wasn't bad either!

I gotta give it to, this is like nothing I've ever seen (well maybe Sabbatical). But I've been watching your uploads and thinking, "yeah this dude is WAY too comfortable over there." So I was not shocked to hear that on/off since '16. But I WAS shocked to see that preview for the next episode with you fighting in the ring! I thank you for showing this, on the ground, view of life over there.
