It was my understanding that a tapered leader has a section of tippet at the end, no need to add, just replace as necessary.

Excellent presentation on a key subject. Thanks for the explanations, visual aids add pros and cons. Mind going a little further? How to make our own leaders? (Butt, midsection & tippets?) General taper guidelines..
Butt = 6.0' ft of 0.023"
Midsection = 2.0' of 0.017"
Tippet = 18" of 0.008
This would be very helpful information. Any recommendations would be appreciated 😊
