How are a catch basin and pop-up emitter the same?

Did you know you can use a catch basin as a water emitter? We explain the similarities between a catch basin and a pop-up emitter. When exiting water, they are installed the same way.

That catch basin is 5" wide. We've been working on a in line trencher series that's 5" wide. They are ideal for a trench made with a trencher. July is our release I will ship you one from our first test run. Looking forward to your opinion / review. It's a game changer.

Thanks for the explanation. I ran over my catch basin with a skid steer while grading my yard and didn't know the name of the device. I'd rather fix it myself than pay the crawlspace company big $$ to fix it.

My catch basin, very much like the one you showed in this video, was buried under sod in my yard. Is that normal? By the way, I live in California in the Sacramento valley, meaning we don't get a ton of rain out here, especially during the summer-ish months (4-5 months out of the year).

Wouldn't the catch basin hold more water before spilling out immediately like a pop up emitter ?

So you wouldn’t wrap the entire gravel portion with fabric? Just lay it on the bottom? Wouldn’t the gravel clog?

does this fit the 4 inch corrugated pipe with out ann adapter . I know you need the tape but wondering if there is adapter needed also

Is it okay to have an emitter pop up through concrete?

We are having an RV pad poured and the only way to discharge the storm water is through the concrete.

I thought the catch basin was to literally capture water to expel it to the end of the system (where the pop up is) or are you just saying you can use it for an emitter too?
