I've been looking for something like for quite a while, thank you! Really solid technical overview of real-time data processing in context of games and gives me confidence in designing new systems going forward. Interestingly enough, I have a bit of an AWS background and this was a pretty good introduction in how to use other alternative technologies for similar use cases as well

The only thing that really remained off the top of my head was a cost vs value + efficiency analysis, but that would greatly differ based on many different factors anyways. Thank you both again for this talk!

Great talk guys. I am happy that GDC is presenting talks also on the streaming pipelines. If Xia Lei or Zechen Xu are reading comments or perhaps anyone else knows more resources (video, blogs) about data engineering in gaming, please let me know :)

So the problem statement is that their boss yells at the dev team... Netease must have a great working culture.

Moral of the story is: Drink some coffee before doing a presentation.

Ok so a standard data processing pipeline that is used in every industry these days. Nothing against the talk, I just went into hoping to see something new but I guess there is no reason to do anything differently just because it is the games industry.

mr lei, your english is lacking a bit. your words are understandable, but you miss a crucial detail or 2 in english communication;
we dont generally have pauses in between words, instead we pause to break up a logical grouping of words especially in complex sentences. but often have very little to no pauses between words in a sentence.
for instance: the black cat <tiny pause> jumped onto the bed. <full sentence pause>

your manner of speaking with the exact same stress on each word and the exact same long pause between words really makes it difficult to follow what you say.
