In regards to the strap noise. To eliminate that noise, put a twist in the strap to stop the vibration. If you have big gaps where the straps won't make full contact, throw in a twist. My kayak takes 3 twists per strap to avoid the noise and vibration.

In Australia, our bass come right up to our kayaks to take lures dangling off the tips of our spare rods 😂

So our kayak fishing club is very generous to newbies, most will offer you a chance to try out their kayaks. I have let people try mine out in the past, once I removed all of my fishing gear. Most people who have contacted our club about a particular kayak, have had multiple offers to try one out.

my solution for the flapping strap is to wrap the strap with a velcro strip so its round instead of flat. works great for me.

Did I missed it but I didn't see you mention a manual sump pump, that's critical to have on any kayak with a hull.

I dont know how to do deep water re-entry but i dont plan on venturing super far from shore and if i do fall out, ill try to swim my boat back in. I also have stabilizer floats.

There’s a really sick mechanism that came out recently. It hangs in your window and has slats. Those slats are adjustable to either let light in or out. Way more advanced than pieces of fabric that you can hang in your windows to block sunlight.

We are very grateful for your words of wisdom and actions.

Regarding visibility to other boaters, if you have a more natural colored kayak, you could also wear a high-visibility life jacket to stand out more.

Another thing:

I always carry an extra pfd. Either a throwable one with a rope or another jacket. I may be wearing one, but the random guy near me may not be and if he falls in I'd rather not have to go in and save him, even though I'm lifeguard trained. Much safer to toss him a jacket or a tow.

"Gator guards" awesome protection and relatively inexpensive ($20-30). Easy install also! Quiet things down... look for discounted yoga mats, cut to shape. Rubber wherever your trolling motor touches the wood.. helps with vibration and noise

your extra kayak for a friend that wants to come with you is the equivalent of giving your friend the shitty controller lmao. this isnt a hate comment btw love your vids

Nice work. Nice video. Many thanks for sharing!!! I'll add to wear suitable clothes in order to avoid sun radiation and sun oil to protect your skin. Something else... put out the elastic plugs of the deck in order to avoid the flooding!!! I learned with the bud way....

Love the channel…and brand new sub here…

Gotta take STRONG exception on one point of gear mentioned….

The YAK ATTACK SAFETY FLAG.

That price is INSANE…. And believe me, I love my Omega rod holders and cup holders from them!

So I’m of same belief you are…. Hack it where you can.

And the flag? Well it’s begging for a hack. A Walmart bicycle flag or anything of the like, mounted in your choice of methods, depending on your yak.

This is a mod I did for about …. EIGHTY FIVE DOLLARS LESS THAN YAK ATTACKS FLAG KIT!

Other than that? Amazing content sir!

Been devouring it tonight, and will share it with friends!

Peace and tight lines sir!

At 4:26 you made me laugh so hard my eyes teared up. That face and little knowing laugh in your voice made me subscribe and ring the bell and like the video! AND I reckon I will have to wear an orange vest and have some orange flags because I like camo 😇

I think the keel guard is the biggest thing I need, I do fish around a lot of sand and mud but I also have a lot of oyster beds that I come in contact with, I've looked at a few options but I think the Kevlar keel guard is the way to go. I watched your video a couple of times on the installation process, looks good to me. 👀
